Online Trading: Buying before the Stock Market opens?

trading puts calls
Anas A asked:

Hi,
Is it possible if you have an online account in etrade, scottrade, or whatever other brokerage firm, CAN YOU BUY a stock before the stock market opens (”before ringing bell”) like an hour or two hours before for example at 7:30 AM or 8???

They usually call it before market trading, so does your order not get through until market opens or can you buy the stock directly after you put your order in the online account..
Thanks
for example: TT shares went up 23% before market opened and it began rising from 8:00 AM,,, could I have bought some shares from my online account at that time???

What could possibly be dragging the price of gold down in this market?

puedodharma asked:

Please, somebody enlighten me. I’m learning about options, and as soon as gold goes on another solid upswing, I may put out a call on it with a duration of one month or less.

Any advice, whether on options or the spot price of gold, oil futures etc. is much appreciated!

Happy trading! And don’t stay in too long!

I want to trade options easy?

trading puts calls
forextrade1970 asked:

Hello. I want to trade options only long calls and long puts instead of trading just stocks. The problem is that when i trade in the money contracts for the next month for example the expected profit is lower than the risked money. Is there a solution to this problem? I mean i want to risk as little as i can and my profit to be higher than the risked money.

Thanks

Can we sell Call options we don’t own?

whoareyou100 asked:

I’m reading up on option strategies, and many requires the simultaneous act of selling and buying call/put options with different strikes or manturities. Buying the option is easy, but how can I sell the option if i dont already own it? And what do I do if still want to partake in the trade?

Trading options questions?

trading puts calls
Trade asked:

Im new to options and i started a virtual account and so far the past week or so ive had great results. Id buy an option by looking at the stock seeing if it will make a nice move up or down then buy a call or put.. and the option would move like 20 - 100% in one day!.. so in real life could i see that same day for a nice 20 - 100% profit?? im trading both in the money and out the money options..
see = sell*

How does trading stock options work?

trading puts calls
cornacopia16 asked:

For instance, can I simply trade the contract cost without ever having an obligation to the shares? For instance, let’s say I buy a call contract at $2.50 ($250.00) and the next day the stock rises and the same call contract is worth $2.55 ($255.00). Would I be able to sale the same call contact for the $2.55 with no other obligations even before the expiration? Does it also work that way with put options?
Thank you

shorting DIA puts?

trading puts calls
tmac5445 asked:

is shorting DIA puts for the 110 mark a good idea. Chances are largely in favor of the DIA not droping over 1,000 points in the next 5 trading days but my question is do people short these unlikely calls or is it too risky?

Is there a way for the average investor to make $ in the stock market?

trading puts calls
jazzyguy17 asked:

I just started investing in stocks this year and am finding the maze of details and information about investing methods overwhelming. I’m also sensing that those who make careers of this are in a much better position to know how to trade, whether using options, calls, puts, etc. I signed up for a number of newsletters from professionals who then try to sell me their services, claiming they have inside information that can make a lot of money. They charge anywhere from $100 to $6,000. for their “inside information”, and while I’m sure they know much more than I do I’m wondering what the rewards vs. risk is if I decide to use their recommendations.
