Online Trading: Buying Stocks before Market Opens?

trading puts calls
Anas A asked:

Hi,
Is it possible if you have an online account in etrade, scottrade, or whatever other brokerage firm, CAN you buy a stock before the stock market opens (“before ringing bell”) like an hour or two hours before for example at 7:30 or 8 ???

They usually call it before market trading, so does your order not get through until market opens or can you buy the stock briefly after you put your order in the online account..

There IS such a thing as “after-hours trading” but as an individual you cannot participate in it. Sorry!

Fidelity offers after hours trading. I have it on my account and have found the volume is extremely low. Therefore, the cost of the stocks to buy not a bargan.

ofcouse you can most of the online brokerage has that option when you place your stock orders, but as one of the reader mention volume is low so price fluctuation would be high.
