is dropping a player and picking up one to get around a trade veto sleezy?

trading puts calls
Ryan asked:

So I tried to trade Slaton RB for Boldin WR. The trade got vetoed by league votes so I put the same exact trade through again and it was once again vetoed. So I decided to call the player i was trading with and tell him to drop his player and I would drop mine and we would pick each others up, therefore getting around the veto system. There is not a “no drop list” in the league so i was able to do it. Is the ok? or this this unethical?

Eh, who cares. I don’t really believe too much in the veto system unless you guys have a lot of money at stake and it is clearer a trade that makes no sense. If this guys really needs a RB and feels Slaton will get the job done for him the rest of the way, plus he is stacked at WR, it could make sense as a trade.

If you contacted him and set this up against league opinion then yes that is unethical. But, kudos for pulling off.

Yes it is sleazy, but will it work? That is the question. What happens if the other guy snatches up your player and his at the same time so you are left holding the bag though? Lots of things could happen here. What happens if the league takes action against the two of you and cut you off for the rest of the season? Just a thought.
