Why would you want to buy a put or a call?

TiZoXiN asked:

Why would you want to buy a put or a call? Suppose you thought Apple’s new I-Phone would be a huge boom for Apple, would you buy a put or a call on the stock? In order to answer this question, take a look at what Apple (trading symbol AAPL) is selling at right now and what it’s puts and calls are selling for. With derivatives likes puts and calls, can an investor stand to make a lot of money with a minimal cash investment? Why? What about if he/she guesses wrong, do they loss a lot of money?

Is anyone intra day trading the QQQQ with options?

trading puts calls
drea10 asked:

I just started intraday trading calls and puts on the QQQQ and am interested in talking to others who are trading the same. Does anyone know of a forum that strictly discusses this only?
Or if you are trading the Q’s and would like to start a group or just exchange info, let me know!

What are the electrical bowl looking things that put out a mist and light called?

pinktiff1989 asked:

I was at the mall and went into a store called something trading company and they had a bunch of these. You plug it into a electrical socket and this little motor makes a fog or mist come out. The sales lady said you could put scented liquid in it. My dad wants one for father’s day and I can’t get back to that store and want to find it online.

Can I buy puts of a stock without having the actual shares?

trading puts calls
Ivan K. asked:

I’m looking at SQNM and I don’t know what the move will be. I want to buy calls and puts at the same time and will realize any profit instead of buying the shares before expiration date.

The stock is currently trading at $21. I want to buy 100 calls and 100 puts but I don’t have enough money to buy the actual shares before expiration date. Can I use “sell to close” to realize any profit instead of buying the shares?

Thanks.

Hi i have a question on options trading?

trading puts calls
keenan b asked:

What I need to know is, and this needs to be answered with somebody that actually trades options for a living. The other day i was watching this stock in pre market trading it was up by 5 dallars or 5 points in pre market. i wanted to catch that move using options, i have been paper trading with option express. so i purchased deep in the money calls. and the last bid and ask, the price of the option was like 8.20 – 8.50 the last trading day, i put a limit order in for 8.60 before the market opened, i was up tremendous that day because of the price discrepancy. So my anserwer is, is this a flaw with option express, or can you put in a order in using options if you see a stock up or down significantly in pre market trading. to capture the move in within the intraday.

THANK YOU

How many days at least before expiration would you buy a call or put of a stock that’s as volatile as AIG now?

trading puts calls
Ivan K. asked:

I just want to know if there are still plenty of people who try to get in even though there are only maybe 4-5 days to expiry.

Would you exercise 1 Oct 3 call (AIG) and it’s 1 dollar on expiration date or sell to close the call? (assuming AIG is trading at 3.86)

Thanks.
